Friday 28 November Redshiftplus support Redshift are a five piece rock band from the south of Scotland who have in recent months been turning heads in both their home town of Dumfries and also in Glasgow. Having formed in late 2006, the band spent much of their first year writing and perfecting a set which has on more than one occasion left audiences begging for more. Guitarist Jamie Dillon and Vocalist Scott Campbell are the main writing partnership of the band but the input of John Chalmers on guitar, Robert Chalmers on bass, and Gary Kirkpatrick on drums is not to be underestimated. The on stage chemistry is there for all to see and hear as they serve up their own unique sound, which is probably best described as a cross between heavy rock and Indie. Musically they can be melodic and restrained, and they can also rock with the very best of them. The fact that they have all known one another for a long time is very obvious in the understanding they appear to have, and the combined passion for the music they make. And they are not alone in this. After hearing their music, the band landed a very capable manager/promoter in the form of David Kirkwood, and are acquiring a growing army of fans. 2008 for Redshift so far, has been about getting in front of as many audiences as possible, and they plan to continue this for they rest of the year. 2009 however, may well bring bigger things............ so watch this space. To learn more about Redshift please click here From 7.30pm - 11pm in The Live Lounge (Downstairs Only). Admission £4 on the door, Advance tickets £3 from Barnstorm.. Age restriction: Minimum age is 16 - ID may be required. Young Scot Cards accepted. Drinks promos: All bottled & draught beers £2.30 each. |
Sunday 30 November The Dangleberriesplus The Cats The band, formed in September 2001, has performed throughout Scotland at festivals, pubs and private functions including The Wickerman Festival, the Tartan Heart Festival at Belladrum and Feugh Fest at Banchory. It’s hard to categorize the music of The Dangleberries as they produce a very unique sound and, it has to be said, provide an extremely unique look!! Probably the best way to describe The Dangleberries is Galloway Pipe Rock. Their music comprises of traditional Scottish pipe music, some of our own compositions, and a few covers, including Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”, Paolo Nutini’s “New Shoes” and the Scissor Sisters “Take Your Mama Out”. Given that the band’s influences range from the Rolling Stones to ACDC, produced with a blend of bagpipes, drums and guitars, you can be certain that you’re going to love the end result. You’ll not be able to stop your feet from stompin’, especially with the band’s very own Bez, aka Annie, on the tambourine! From 3.30pm - 8pm in The Live Lounge (Downstairs Only). Admission £5. Age restriction: Minimum age is 16 - ID may be required. Young Scot Cards accepted. Drinks promos: All bottled & draught beers £2.30 each. |

Both entertaining and executed expertly, Junior Priest features an eerily accurate Halford at the helm, as well as awesome axe attacks and blasting beats. Having become stalwarts of the Scottish scene, and having recently completed recording, Junior Priest are heading out to the highway and spreading their wings of destiny further a field, all guns blazing. They are looking to ram it down your way. Wanna deal with the devil? Junior Priest are – Murray Graham - Vocals Dave Cumming – Drums Liam Kane – Lead and Rhythm Guitar Dawn Rattray – Bass Derek Mitchell – Rhythm and Lead Guitar Allan Twiname – Rock Reviewer says – Junior Priest hail from Edinburgh and are Scotland’s premier tribute act to the Metal Gods, Judas Priest. Treating their heroes with reverence, they add their own touch to the Priest catalogue as can be heard here.
